@til @Arcana @mischievoustomato Yeah but that's nothing to do with the medical system that exists there and everything to do with the prevailing social conservatism that exists in Japan since the Meiji era despite whatever liberalization SCAP was able to accomplish during the occupation. Taiwan modeled most of their institutions off of the ones existing in Japan and they're doing much better comparatively speaking.
