@ianRobinson Ah, in that case, I can say that video referral started several years ago. I'm happy to see it on controversial tries, but I also think they rely on it too hard. As for how the ball is handled in scrums, I think that became more of a thing about a decade ago when the crouch, bind, set sequence for scrums was introduced. And, honestly, that was probably good...too many bashed heads and stopped scrums with crouch, touch, pause, engage.
