> I would imagine, just from my initial thoughts, that the DevTerm would be difficult to use with the screen it has.
Not really. The way they advertised it was "Dual VGA" and it's a little like that. Like, I open up acme and I can do two or three columns pretty comfortably. I use the fixed 6x13 font in both urxvt and Plan 9, and if I get rid of the padding on the side (normally left open so I can see conky, but I put a toggle for that in ratpoison), a urxvt/xterm window is 212x36, otherwise 187x36. So, more than enough space to have two regular columns with a page of code each, plus a little shell to the side, and still see the battery/wifi/CPU/RAM/etc. indicators in conky. If I'm reading a two-column PDF, I can hold it sideways and see one column at a time, very readable, hold it with one hand and hit the space bar to advance to the other column or next page, and obviously a single-column PDF I don't rotate and just read as-is.
The same 6x13 font is a little small on the uConsole, so I have to use the 9x15 one. So despite the same horizontal resolution as the DevTerm, there's a little less horizontal space in terms of the number of characters that fit, so it's 142x47.
