I would argue that homogenity has its drawbacks, as in too homogenous populations can be destroyed by something that would not hit a more diverse population so hard. Take different sicknesses affecting different strains of humanity more or less. If you have no diversity, you can be wiped out.
Furthermore, diversity introduces more viewpoints, and if some problem cannot be solved from one viewpoint, it might be from another.
