- Embed this noticeI have 105,000 miles on my EV over the last 5 years and I have driven it across the country multiple times. It drives so well that I would never go back. The few times I have needed to drive a gasoline engine car since then has been a huge wake up call to how bad they are: terribly slow to accelerate, annoying latency on the acceleration pedal, and they feel like they're out of control because they don't automatically slow down when you take your foot off the pedal.
My charge time on a road trip is typically about 20 minutes: enough for me to go to the bathroom, grab a snack, let my dog out quick
