pat@ned i should probably clarify. Tipping is a thing in tourist traps like Venice or central Rome. But that's not real Italy, rather what American tourists expect it to be. Where i live, which is less than an hour drive from center of Rome, you'd be looked at like you're an alien if you'll tip a barkeep ;)
