@polarisera Great questions. The local library here has grandparent story time, which is basically what you described with old folks reading to kids. There's also a dog story time where kids who are learning how to read can take turns reading a short book out loud to a trained therapy dog, and story times with various librarians.

I don't think there's ever been a drag story time in my town, though the library does have a truckload of gendie kids' books.

A drag thing at a school was recently canceled here due to "terroristic threats" or something so I think the ones here know that messing with kids isn't going to be tolerated. No one cared when they had their own drag shows in their own venue.
