I agree. The law should be simple. That men need lawyers suggests that something is amiss. How can laymen be held accountable for there legal transgression when they don't understand the law, and the lawyer is guessing?

But there is a difference. You can represent yourself. If the law was like medicine, you'd be required to get the advice and approval of a lawyer when entering into certain types of contracts, like to purchase a car, and you'd be required to purchase insurance to pay for it. We have far more legal freedom than medical freedom.
