Finished 'things fall apart', a book about a man living in current nigeria when the christian missionaries arrived. apparently it's required classroom reading for many in britain so they are probably bored out of their minds by it, but i enjoyed it. the ibo culture is completely alien in many aspects, and it's not clear at all that the christian missionaries are bringing a bad change of culture.
