My hope for 2023: That it may not be worse than 2022. Because otherwise it's only a matter of time until people, increasingly exhausted by crises, destitution, and hopelessness, begin to accept war and destruction of societies as way out: If you can't improve things, shatter them, and build anew. That temptation is our greatest threat in 2023.
