@humanetech @cobra @staltz FOSS software can be quite pricey if it's also a hosted SaaS at the same time. See discourse.org, or ghost.org for example.
As for desktop software, it should always be reasonably proced. Reaper.fm is a good example of this in a propriatery word, @zrythm and ardour.org have a business model that makes some money despite having their source code available. The key here, as always, is to offer good software.
