I envision a modular transport system where people own minimal folding cabins. Roads, rails, or air? Doesn't matter. A network of vehicles could all host you. Click your cabin onto the platform, and go.

If you need to leave it behind, bringing your cabin to where you are now would be cheaper, folded with no passengers.
