What is wrong with the Democratic Party in NY State?   @JapanProf I saw somewhere that party interns do background check on opponents routinely and compile a report. Santos's irregularities were flagged in the report but nobody in a position of authority paid attention to the report. (I can't recall where I saw this. Google is flooded with more recent articles.)

  @Narako thanks a lot! That makes it even worse. The NY State Democratic Party leadership was lazy and incompetent. are lazy. Governor Hochul bears a big blame too.

  In our district, those who are familiar with the politics within the NY State Democratic Party blamed Governor Hochul in failing to pay close attention to the redistricting process. But the problem goes deeper than that. Hochul sounds like a political amateur.
