   I don't know when I started using DuckDuckGo over Google but it's been a while. Given all the talk I've seen this past year about how bad Google has gotten for search I think using DDG is still the right choice. I even have settings I load on each machine to make it even better.

     @kel Just an observation. I'm not trying to switch anyone to anything. Was listening to someone on a podcast bitch about Google while searching for something on my own is all.

     @kel WTAF??? Wow! Most of the blocks I have here are just the insufferable techies, not full on criminal shit.

     I love Mastodon, but it has a special type of elitism that seems to hint at the only way to stop it would be to block all but a very few. Kinda defeats the purpose of it to me so... eh. Mute words, however, I use the shit out of that. Have about 1,000 and it keeps all the politics and other stuff out of the fead here. That part is awesome.

     I had it this week with someone who accused me of sexually harassing kids, I did no such thing - all he did though was tell me *he* spends his days thinking about sex and kids. Sick fuck! But he's an irrelevance, completely worthless piece of shit, just scraped it off the bottom of my shoe with a single click!

     @chris I used DDG for years, but I’ve recently started using and paying for @kagihq. I like it a lot.

     @chris The biggest thing that bothers me is that, sometimes, there aren’t very many results, but they explain this in their documentation. They don’t return results that aren’t relevant to your search, so there are fewer bogus results to sift through. When I look back at the results returned from DDG and Google, I get it: sometimes I’d hours going through page after page of search results, not finding relevant links.
