bartholin (bartholin@fops.cloud)'s status on Saturday, 23-Nov-2024 19:52:50 JST bartholin Guys, what is a good way to launch a Windows program on a Mac (even recent ones with an non-x86 cpu)?
It's for people who are not computer scientists, so the simpler the better. I think I could do any preliminary work there needs to be before launching the program though- waifu likes this.

1. Install GNU and stop running proprietary malware.
Why would a computer scientist know much about the execution of proprietary software?
After all, computer science is the process of making computers.
WINE Is Not an Emulator has been ported to macos, although you'll need to bring an emulator to run AMD64 software on a Aarch64 CPU. -

翠星石 (suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com)'s status on Saturday, 23-Nov-2024 19:59:03 JST 翠星石 @waifu @bartholin Proton is WINE+DXVK+esync.
Vulkan is intentionally unsupported on macos - although there is a 3rd-party metal to vulkan compatibility layer.
esync is a file thing that interfaces with Linux's file API and macos doesn't use that kernel.waifu likes this.
