@sickburnbro the spic tax is even more of a burden on the America than the nigger tax

@pepsi_man @HWABAG if you assume that figure doesn't include the packing shed, then just double it, so it's an 8% increase; still not the $8 per apple

VAT should already be included in the price

@HWABAG @sickburnbro
That's kinda how a VAT works. Point being, a VAT (in theory) punishes a longer supply chain and discourages middlemen from trying to self insert.

@sickburnbro
The immigrant labor is there to keep costs down for packaging facilities. If food gets more expensive, that makes it harder for the middlemen to shuffle product.
America needs a VAT tax.

@pepsi_man @HWABAG but really that if anything is a lot easier to mechanize.

@pepsi_man @HWABAG the problem with VAT is that is requires the government up everyone's ass.

I don't even like apples all that much.

@Paleface the point is that you could pay americans very nice wages to get that work done and because it's such a low overall portion of the final cost it wouldn't do much.

Come on man, don't try to ruin a perfectly fine quip like that.

@ChadleyDudebro the best case is that your country has a severe labor shortage and tasks for products that are very good for trade. But that's super unlikely, because usually what happens then is you just import lower cost stuff and have everyone doing the high trade value stuff.

In the best case scenario immigration raises housing costs while lowering wages. In the worst case it rapes and murders your children.
There is literally no upside. Unless you are someone who benefits from lower wages and higher housing costs. The key is getting normies to understand this.
I shy away from heavy math poasts because, ironically, immigration has so weakened our education system that normies can't follow.
Deporting 30 million illegals would lead us back to an economic golden age that hasn't been seen since boomers entered the workforce.

@ChadleyDudebro @sickburnbro i've had some success with "imagine 30 million fewer cars on the roads"

The morning commute alone would make it worth it.

@ChadleyDudebro @JoshuaSlocum not only that, but the mexicans drive drunk during the day so much, they are probably responsible for a sizable amount of accidents.

@sickburnbro @ChadleyDudebro luckily they all have insurance
it's such a stereotype people use it as an aphorism
"more insurance than a mexican driver"

@JoshuaSlocum @ChadleyDudebro their insurance *used* to be "run back to mexico" but they don't even do THAT anymore
