     the model for this is self aware people that have a bad family life growing up - they either go "I'm never going to have kids" or they go "no, I'm going to work hard and give my kids the childhood I should have had"
     
     How this falls out depends on the incentives of culture, and the support for mutilating kids was already wearing thin, but will evaporate as they get more focus.
     
     And because its an emotional and captivating story in what will be a receptive environment, it will get focus.

     @threalist I get the feeling, but culturally there are a lot of indicators things have shifted. The trust in doctors dropping insanely is a good example.
