@Nudhul@sun@anemone Being 6'7" I pay attention to headroom and I found that BMW X3 offers enough.
The kvetching about trucks used as basic transportation misses the fire extinguisher problem. I knew a guy, who lived in Jersey across from NYC. A typical lib NPC, Prius and VW. Then a few years back they had an unexpected flood. His redneck neighbour evacuated my friend in a Silverado through the flood. When he returned, he bought the baddest Tundra the money could buy without modding. Naturally his partisanship didn't permit an F-250, and even he realized what a dumpster fire Titan was, ergo Tundra.
It's literally an 06 Impreza WRX! You can't get much smaller! It's the perfect size! And it's not the size that's the issue. I just get too close to the curb. It's not lowered, so I'm not getting those retarded looking curb feelers
You had the 90s Volvo, right? My WRX is a wagon. Even though she's the exact same length as the sedan version, she can fit a surprising amount of stuff in it. I once got a 65" OLED in there, with the box.
I don't think I'd want to tow that much with the WRX. It's really not great at it.
I really like off-roading too, but I guess I could have just bought and built up a Forester or something. I had an ex who had a 4x4 Suzuki (she lived in the middle of nowhere, so she off-roaded from/to her house).
@djsumdog@anemone i tow cars with my wagon and get 25mpg while doing it. Nobody except contractors need trucks, if you truly do need a truck for one task you can rent one from home depot for $20
oooh horse trail area .. that does look fun. Yea, that does look like a challenge in RWD. Did you have anyone with you, or any recovery gear?
My photo was from a local state park. I've honestly never tried it in RWD, but there are some spots where I've had to turn my rear diff locker on, so I doubt it would do well 😅
