The U.S. has been in a relatively cold civil war since 2008. This is why every election cycle from then until now feels exhausting. We are not engaged in mere politics, we are fighting pitched battles. Whatever the final results of the 2024 federal elections, they will not end the current civil war. That was true yesterday, is true tonight, and will be true tomorrow. 1/

Heidi Li Feldman (heidilifeldman@mastodon.social)'s status on Wednesday, 06-Nov-2024 15:04:34 JST Heidi Li Feldman During the next phase of this relatively cold civil war, our strategy and tactics will be shaped by the final results in all the 2024 elections - state and local as well as federal. We can’t assess what we should focus on until we have definitive final results. My personal plan for the remainder of the week is to use all my skills to stay clear-eyed, alert, and emotionally grounded. That way I will be sharper when we have firm results. 2/

Heidi Li Feldman (heidilifeldman@mastodon.social)'s status on Wednesday, 06-Nov-2024 15:04:34 JST Heidi Li Feldman The limbo is challenging. It makes it easier for fear, anger, anxiety, and even despair to swamp us. So until I can better see the precise political situation we face and begin to plan and take action accordingly, I am going to get outside as much as I can, rest as much as I can, and read as much as I can. That is the antidote to the limbo. 3/3
