The National Hurricane Center just announced #Helene is now a Category 4 #hurricane with sustained winds of 130 mph. Phenomenally rapid intensification from yesterday, when it first because a hurricane with winds of 74 mph.

Cat 4, just before expected landfall this evening, means all the grimmest predictions will unfold: Trees and power lines down. Tremendous flooding. Storm surges above 10 feet in many places, up to 20 in some. Big waves will break *atop* the storm surge.
