   Try mayo as a dip instead? Some folks swear by it. You can kill a lot of ketchup's sweetness with salt (which good french fries have)

     The Aussies/Kiwis use Aoiali for fries (chips). but they also don't have ketchup. They have "tomato sauce" in identical bottles. But I think it's just ketchup without vinegar.
