Last one before I go back to my studies: I’ve always found it funny how one professor after the other talks about this Mythical Information Systems Student they seldom see—a person profoundly interested in studying the most fundamental bodies of knowledge for the field, who doesn’t want coding as their primary responsibility, etc.
It’s me. They’re describing me.
And yet, in the almost 5 years I’ve spent studying Information Systems, it’s always felt like I was _punished_ for being that way.

My reaction to that was, fuck, I find that super compelling. I’m here FOR the intersection between technology, humanities, and social sciences that exists in this undergraduate. I was so frustrated with how my Operations Research classes weren’t what I expected them to be!

Exactly!!!! That’s the problem!!!

Heard a really interesting thing in a class today: in a Brazilian Information Systems symposium, a participant of a panel asked if Information Systems should be recognized as a field within Humanities and Social Sciences rather than something in STEM. 👀
