     Honestly forestry has always been super cool least round here

     Park service, maybe, but Forrest service interrupted small normal wildfires that clean up the forrest floor, now there is such a massive amount of fuel that every fire that does actually catch completely destroys them, killing everything, instead of the normal ones that only kill the weak or the tiny ones.
     
     There's over competition with timber as well because of replanting efforts, and the land can't support that many, so they all end up stunted.
