this time it's ai-cha. indonesian chain but only opened here recently. looks wise even more of a blatant mixue ripoff than bingxue, but they have 3 ice cream flavors: vanilla, matcha and... sea salt
tried the mix sea salt vanilla and it was ok, the salt flavor barely came through and the texture was not as good as mixue. after leaving the establishment I noticed they also have a haw flake drink, will leave that for a next visit :ARU:
accidentally stumbled upon a wedrink. seems to be another chinese company, they opened first outlet here in june. the design is pretty much teal mixue, and the menu is uninspired.
soft serve flavors offered are vanilla, matcha and mix. got the last one and it's the same as in bingxue, maybe less matcha flavor. one thing it has going for it though, is that unlike others it has coffee, but I didn't try because I visited at 8pm.
since this post a momoyo (indonesian chain) opened near me, but I didn't post cuz it was too unoriginal
however today stumbled upon guuk guuk, which I think is the first malaysian mixue clone (all the other ones are chinese or indonesian).
went with a classic order of ice cream and lemonade. ice cream is 80 sen more expensive than Mixue, but much creamier and with a yoghurty taste. nice. lemonade sucked, I think they forgot to put the sugar.
looking at the menu they have a lot of original stuff like onigiri and thai milk tea. if those two turn out to be decent, this might be my new favorite mixue clone
