So to avoid an autocracy that would end elections (among other things) people are saying the Democratic Party wants to ignore the results of the primary elections to choose a candidate.

Ignore elections and votes cast to protect elections and votes yet-to-be cast, do I have that right?

We could, I dunno, stick with the incumbent who gained (depending on the poll) recently, already beat 45 once and _who the voters chose already_.
