#TimothySnyder's expertise re: how #fascism work really helps understand what's happening with the #NYT, #CNN, #WaPo. It comes down to fear. If #journalists (and I'm tempted to use scare quotes but won't) submit ahead of time, they won't get hurt. The threat of violence looms large and instead of confronting that, the #media is hiding from it and bringing about the very thing they are most afraid of (because hiding won't work).
