   Vitalik Buterin suggested that "AI safety" is a reinvented deference to Pascal's Wager: "AI safety" proponents erroneously calculate no cost to misguided "AI safety".
   
   We can already see this in action: OpenAI is ridiculously and prudishly censored, effectively this corporation and a handful of others that are primarily concerned with positive PR, are deciding what humanity is permitted to use this liberating technology for, lowest-common-denominator PG-13 requests only allowed.

     Interesting observation: "AI safety" is never seriously intended to be followed, it's just something you say when you're starting to get investor money. Probably similar to OpenAI pretending it was going to be open source early on
