   fully believe the "scanning for games on your local network" text in the minecraft multiplayer menu doesnt actually do anything, if it cant find my minecraft server running on THE SAME MACHINE on the default port.

     @kirby@lab.nyanide.com looks like its just sending a multicast "anyone here?", which is probably why it doesnt see a local server.
