At this point, why wouldn't we assume that the decision wasn't about money? We see the same behavior over and over in numerous contexts, and despite complete market failure, company after company does it.
Instead of assuming ignorance, we should assume intent. The question then becomes why.

@Humpleupagus I assume it's not about money because pozzing Star Wars killed a potential $2 billion annual boxoffice franchise. There hasn't been a new feature in five years. Covid provided a cover story but that is getting old. Marvel, same. Killed dead by the poz.

I can't help but notice that they're particularly aiming for Gen-X and Gen-Z. This includes not only franchises they grew up with, but standard coarse languages used in the 80s. Like calling people gay or fags or queers or homos, which has been largely banned in most contexts on and offline.
