I see people idealizing France because « two former presidents were convicted », and because here « no one is (supposed to be) above the law », but please stop doing that. 😔
In both cases the sentence was largely disappointing in relation to the seriousness of their crimes, and none of them actually went to prison.
More generally, corrupt politicians go unpunished here as well, and our « justice » system is also rotten to the core. 😬
The last time a political leader here received the treatment they truly deserved actually dates back to 1793, so it’s been a long time. 😐
