     @s I like VIM because I can just type :wq and savequit instantly, within nano it will ask you if you want to rename the file (normally no).

     @kirby Thank you for pointing the 31+ Vulnerabilities to my attention, considering that Debian comes preinstalled with Neovim and VIM you could backdoor anyone using it?

     Free peripheral software does exist, but there isn't that much of it.

     Also, Gentoo is free with ACCEPT_LICENSE="-* @FREE -Artistic" if you're careful to also avoid packages with an incorrect LICENSE (i.e. Linux, but you can just install Linux-libre).

     @Suiseiseki From what I could find it is a hidden setting within the installer introduced Debian 12, I could downpatch to Debian 11 (unsafe) or find a better distro, or even better try to write my own OS.
