I wish I could travel back to 1967 to tell these kids their songs will be used in commercials for children’s crackers and finding someone to fix your toilet.
Talk about going down a rabbit hole.

@hotdogsladies But *also* the ending scene to "A Serious Man" so ... maybe that would ease the pain???
I’m just still amazed “Miracles” ever got played on the radio.
@hotdogsladies I'm going to have to defer to some learned folks on the whole "Starship" thing.
"Every band, should, if it's gone on a long time and has clearly jumped the shark, every band should be required to start out being called whatever the band name is plus 'Airplane' and then, the day they get shitty, they should be forced to change to whatever the band name is plus 'Starship.'"
"Ah, that's good. So it becomes a way though where it's almost like identifying sick people in a community."
@hotdogsladies (that's taken from Simpson, Mann and Lisagor's "You Look Nice This Morning" vol 2, 'Actuary Starship' although I can't find a DOI at the moment, unfortunately. I'll get in touch with my university library to rectify this.)
