     How did you come to that conclusion?
     
     According to wikipedia, an implementation of matrix was released in September 2014 and discord was released in May 13, 2015 - so it predates discord.
     
     
     You should really just use the superior irc tbh.

     irc is an excellent filter for NPC's you really can't discuss anything meaningful with.

     software does not release v0.1alpha with all of the features present and fixed so that they could have the next decade dedicated to bug fixing, most of the nonsense features elements.io has basically dates back to some retarded discord decision. if it was not decentralized i'd imagine them actually rolling out a paid subscription so they could fund the bundeswehr or idf or something.

     how about you actually say that to people in real life and collect some first-hand data about their reactions so we can actually analyze if irc has an advantage over other options for people who dont spend 16hrs per day sitting in front of their computers just chilling on the internet.
