   @wyatt8740 Also a lot of people in their teens who'd write IRC bots as their first network programs as you basically just need to send ~4 simple lines and text-replace PING with PONG, the end.
   
   Also many gaming-related things are literally IRC (osu! chat for example) or undistinguishable from it (for example Twitch chat, which you can officially use via IRC).

     @eragon @wyatt8740 Those are IRC-style client commands, which you see absolutely everywhere.
     Not IRC as in the client-server protocol, which last-time I played it (~2014) wasn't used and needed a bridge.
