CrunkLord420 (crunklord420@clubcyberia.co)'s status on Tuesday, 27-Feb-2024 18:54:36 JST CrunkLord420 a 100GB BDXL M-Disc costs ~$15 USD but will last over 100 years in non-special storage. It's kinda tempting to use them for occasional critical backups.
The question I guess is how hard will it be to get a BluRay drive in 100 years?-

CrunkLord420 (crunklord420@clubcyberia.co)'s status on Friday, 01-Mar-2024 20:12:28 JST CrunkLord420 @BlinkRape @s8n I see it as a possible alternative to tape backups. Tape machines are very expensive, while M-Disc burners are very cheap. At a certain scale it makes sense. -

CrunkLord420 (crunklord420@clubcyberia.co)'s status on Friday, 01-Mar-2024 20:12:31 JST CrunkLord420 @s8n yes, according to ISO, US/UK Government. Apparently they can last thousands of years "in a salt mine". That's why I say "non-special". -
