cjd (cjd@pkteerium.xyz)'s status on Tuesday, 20-Feb-2024 20:56:50 JST cjd Well, pre-20th century art was inspiring, before the CIA started muddying the water by pumping "artists" who throw globs of paint at a canvas like a 5 year old.
I'm hopeful that the NFT revolution is going to inoculate everyone to the scam by getting a million other grifters to join in.
The reason most artists are leftists is because most art is funded (one way or another) by stolen tax money, and so it's being funneled to political loyalists who create what is effectively advertising for the party.- on-lain ✔ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ and BowserNoodle ☦️ like this.

GluedToTheScreen (gluedtothescreen@noauthority.social)'s status on Tuesday, 20-Feb-2024 20:56:51 JST GluedToTheScreen how about "enjoy"?
while I'll agree that artists are more emotional and generally left-leaning...
... I don't believe most are that political, they just want to make art.
I suspect many of those who go down the political road do that because it's the easiest/laziest way to gain traction.
I suspect there's maybe 10-15% of artists that are truly radical. Of course, that's enough to create a mess.

cjd (cjd@pkteerium.xyz)'s status on Tuesday, 20-Feb-2024 20:56:52 JST cjd Most artists spend their entire lives struggling to turn the country they live in into Soviet Russia - so "love" is not the word I'd use. BowserNoodle ☦️ likes this. -

@cjd... but this is going to be an uphill climb for them.
Both the art and the artist will have to be exceptional just to stand out from the crowd. THEN there's trying to make a living of it.
