Hey! I don’t really talk about work much on here, but I’m super proud of what our team has been working on and am thrilled to share some highlights. First, we’ve been in the midst of building a whole new Glitch along with the community, and @jenn (celebrating *7 years* of leading our @glitchdotcom community!) has been hosting monthly code jams. This month: show us your blog! https://support.glitch.com/t/welcome-to-welcometomyblog-our-february-code-jam-prompt/65819
Meanwhile, our Fast Forward program for supporting the open internet has been taking off, with over 100 open source and community projects now participating — the latest is Molly White’s indispensable work being warmly welcomed by our @haubleshttps://hachyderm.io/@molly0xfff/111864280401207665
We’ve also revitalized and revamped the broad catalog of open source software that Fastly contributes to, with a simple new way to discover all the resources that are available. https://developer.fastly.com/community/open-source/ And all of this is on top of things like a new community forum, revamped documentation, a much simpler user interface for navigating Fastly services, and a lot more. It’s been super exciting to watch unfold.
And I know times are tough out there right now — we’re hiring. I am deeply critical of where our industry stands much of the time, but I feel good about the work Fastly does in the world, and can recommend it as a good environment that’s striving to be even better. Some roles are remote, but if you’re in NYC, I help lead our incredible office here and either way, underrepresented candidates are warmly welcomed. https://www.fastly.com/about/careers/current-openings
Any chance there is also a list of open source projects that Fastly uses to build Fastly? I wish more companies would give social proof to the open source work that they depend on. (I looked, but I didn't see a list from the developers site—sorry if I missed it!)
