   @jzed74 That's effing brutal, and heartbreaking, and sadly so very relatable -- the adherence to government rhetoric and bizarre cognitive dissonance has led so many friends and family to lash out with such viciousness and cruelty and disregard towards the principles of care. You are in the right, and time will tell, and prove it so. Not that this fact makes any of this much easier when dealing with such crap on the here and now. Just know many of us relate, and remain steadfast in solidarity with you.

     I want everyone on Mastodon to know that this is my mother. She has been this way my whole life. This was an email reply to my lament that neither parent was willing to mask indoors for a day or two, or do a rapid test before we gathered, all 4 of us, to celebrate her 80th birthday.
