@newt @meso I mean, there is certainly that aspect of it. But it seems more like a movement in modern art to make everything subjective so putting a banana on display is now art or something ridiculous like it. I'm thinking about that sort of thing.

@meso @sim @newt warhol made an art factory, a lot of his stuff was made by other people under his name. it was bad for the art world.

@sim @newt no, it's just interesting. maybe there is deeper meaning behind it. it's not like it's not art or it's not good, it's just that it doesn't really have a meaning. lots of stuff that I make can be beautiful but there's no real meaning behind it, it's just beautiful because it is

@meso @newt Is it worth looking into his stuff more?
Are you doing art as further/higher education?

@sim @newt Speaking of avant-garde my art teacher was trying to tell me Warhol's stuff had meaning and I just really don't get it. I mean, it's nice and all. he was definitely a good artist it's just that what he did was he took an image and added colors to it, there wasn't really any deeper meaning than it being pop culture and artsy. at least to me, I should ask her about it

@sim @newt putting a banana on display as art is fine and all but it's really horrible for society if that becomes mainstream instead of avant-garde

@sim @Moon @newt August Wilhelm Leu is an amazing painter, shit's just incredible. I'd like to see it in person. it's so lifelike, special, masterful. @eris told me about him

@Moon @meso @newt Sucks that it ended up being bad for the art world.
Guess I've been too busy looking at things like this...
