     i mean the people voting in general are grossly unqualified, very often also voting in gross conflicts of interest.
     
     competitards are going to vote for whatever helps them win. wagies are going to vote for whatever pays them more. there isn't really a holistic focus on "yes, 20 years was long enough to copyright a movie. re-bundling forever is not contributing to the arts."

     not just this, but when you vote you vote for just 1 candidate. it'd be better if you voted for multiple candidates, from the one you want the most to the one you'd like to win if all else fails. Over here in my country we seem to get bottom of the barrel shit.

     on paper, democracy sounds like a good thing, the issue is its implementation. It mostly seems to lead to degeneration (in the general sense of things) overall.
