     @helene@p.helene.moe if i recall correctly (and i am not a lawyer) in german law there is a slight difference between a Lichtbildwerk (lit. light painting work) and a Lichtbild (lit. light painting).
     
     the former has "higher value" in a way, as it satisfies the attribute of being a work and is protected as other works (i.e. until authors death + 70 a), where as the latter is more of a snapshot and is less protected (i.e. publication or manufacture + 50 years)
     
     https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/englisch_urhg/englisch_urhg.html#p0657 was originally based on directive 93/98/EWG, so maybe france has something similar

     @Johann150 we have cases here of journalists' pictures being copyrighted even though they're pictures of people or stuff like that which is wild imo, I'm not too sure on the legal details here
