     But wait! Another perspective: 96.3% of the top million web servers run Linux; ChromeOS, which is just Linux with a Chrome browser interface, counts; Android, which is a mobile Linux distro, counts too...this puts Linux between 23.6 and 44.98 percent!      @MediaActivist I kinda disagree in spirit.

     Android and ChromeOS both use the Linux kernel, but they go completely against the spirit of what makes Linux good by locking the system down. Which to me makes them not really count as the same thing.

     I genuinely want a "year of the Linux desktop" but I think it takes the same kind of mental switch as something like federated social media and most just aren't there.
