one of the guys on here i forget who was telling me about propagating tomato cuttings, i cut off a big stem of my orange cherry tomato plant, and shoved him in a glass of water, he's already sprouting roots, thank you whoever you are, you saved me the trouble of growing tomatoes from seed or buying plants next year and forever.

@GrantTK what i started with was a couple plants i bought from the farm store, cherry orange, and grape, tried to grow beef steaks from seeds, actually got a bunch of those to sprout, potted all those in large pots, that i'll wheel into the heated garage over winter, and was i explained above i'm experimenting with propagating the cuttings of my plants i had outside since i actually found i like the orange cherries, then i got red cherreis that i grow from seeds, they're allgoing in pots for winter so i have an experiment to see how well i can growthem indoors over winter, then i'll propagate off those plants and put the propagations in the ground or raised beds for the season

@Zealist Tomatoes are perennials, but they aren't going to survive outdoors over winter in most of North America. It's easier just to grow new ones every year.

@Zealist A heated garage will work if you have good grow lights, tomatoes need a lot of light.
