   The historian recognizes him on the spot, the senior officers discuss their views on his rule once they've realized who he is.

   He seems just as famous as Napoleon in our day, they just didn't make the connection because it was so unlikely to run into him and they didn't know the name of his ship, which was probably launched in secret just before their empire surrendered.

     @clacke I have to watch the TOS episode where they introduced Kahn, but was he actually known? I seem to recall Kirk had never heard of him before?

     I don't like that they felt the need to retcon him from Punjabi to Canadian, or that his taken title is now his birthname. Why would he conquer Asia and the Middle East if he's in Toronto? And what kind of megalomaniacs were his parents?

     The morals of time travel and timeline preservation are of course always iffy. Maybe it was the right choice, but La'an didn't seem very conflicted about it compared to the death of a hot hunk from an erased timeline.

     I really like what this episode does for her character progression. I like that S2 has more La'an, she kicks ass.
