     @nugger @Gundog @Xenophon @Owl Is there much racial difference between Meds and Nords? It always seemed like people's perception of this are skewed by the fact that parts of Spain and Italy were mongrelized. Was there really any significant blood difference between the Barbarians and Romans?
     
     I've heard more than once that in the last days of Rome the Barbarian mercenaries were more loyal to Rome than many soldiers, I've always figured that was just racial solidarity between Germans and Italians amidst the horde of racial aliens that had been imported

     @mmmfeet @nugger @Gundog @Xenophon @Owl Northern Italians are much more likely to have blonde hair and various eye colors compared to the south. There's a lifestyle difference, but it's hard to tell how much is genetic vs cultural. As far as mixture goes, many from the south have trace Iberian DNA from their occupation but I wouldn't say it discludes then from being White, just that they're the very cusp of the puddle. Think of the south as the British of the Mediterranean and it makes more sense.

     @d0c40r0 @Owl @Xenophon @Gundog @mmmfeet @nugger I know, my point though was more that British are considered White despite being Anglos, Saxons, Norman, Celtic, Irish, etc. I like to think Italians south of Rome are a good comparison to make when describing how foreign admixture doesn’t necessarily disclude a group from being White.
