     @LadyMont WHY DO YOU EVEN HAVE LUNCH THAT YOU NEED TO PAY FOR AT SCHOOL! Send them with with a sandwich in a brown paper bag like everyone else in the world. Why do you have to institutionalise LUNCH of all things!

     @kj00 @LadyMont my kids school does canteen stuff. But only on Wednesdays and Fridays. And only for lunch, not recess or morning tea. So you have to prepare them something regardless. Good balance between convenience and dependence. And it means the kids can get sushi as a special treat.

     @ned @LadyMont I'm guessing some of the parents work too many hours to prepare a decent lunch for their kid or can't even afford to provide a sandwich, so they hope the school will provide something even if through debt. Or they cannot afford to do it every single day.
