     @Owl @Humpleupagus @dave @poppinwillow @Impaler @matty My viewpoint on it is, it’s the natural progression of godless scientists. Without the constraints of morality or a higher power, scientists will be tempted to materialize Satan in the pursuit of knowledge.

     Why can’t a.i. become self aware, why can’t a.i. be developed into self preservation, why can’t a.i. eliminate humanity for that goal?

     We should probably see how long CERN has been around, when it has been activated, and see if that correlates with the increase in usage or development of artificial intelligence.

     That's really difficult to quantify. In short, it is a machine or entity, as some believe, that is programmed to perform the tasks that one may be expected of a human, with better accuracy.

     That makes sense, apologies Matty.

     I say that’s a sensible conclusion all in all, but I’ve always been of the mind that any AI programmed to do anything would be dangerous in the first place. The fact that we have machines that can talk back to us in a matter of seconds is startling. I think we’ve stumbled onto a technology that not only are we too immature to be handling but it just shouldn’t exist in the first place. It’s going to be used to play into the hands of evil people.

     All you have to do is be smart and you get get it to do what you want. I'm sure there are limitations and filters, but objectivity can be used against the enemy's tools as well. It would be funny to kneecap an anarchy-communist AI takeover by flooding it with logic to get it to say nigger.

     Not necessarily paradoxical, we’ve been toying with the idea of self-replicating machines for a long time now. The problem is, it’s going to be just like text-oriented gray goo in the end. The machines will just keep building more machines until they take over the entire internet. Infinite internet users consuming and posting an infinite amount of data, everywhere.

     Perhaps that was not the right word to use. I meant to say that artificial intelligence that can write its own software will have an exponentially increasing effect. It is a little scary to think about, but AI cannot understand abstracts. It can spit out something that one may quantify as abstract in an image or text but the meaning behind it will always be decided by humans. Robots cannot understand subjective reasoning. They can try to emulate it based on input but grasping the concept is not possible. I would almost argue that AI that is programmed to do one thing and one thing only would be more dangerous than one that accepts input to return a result.
