   @tost @pixel i bet they still want to use sms to verify a new user but they dont want that they use sms as second factor

     @pixel@desu.social the issue is, you WANT to know people's phone numbers and you want them to have some form of 2fa :^)
     This is going to make the bot problem worse and leak subscriber base
     I’d actually do the opposite
     If we have your credit card number (you’re paying us) you don’t need 2fa so you’re allowed to turn it off

     I love how so many of the new Twitter measures are either for profit or to save money

     and the most recent one is actually both.

     only Twitter Blue subscribers being able to use SMS 2FA, which saves them cost on sending messages via Twilio.
