  Climate migration is a grim reality for many people around the world. It is predicted to affect many more in the future if we don't act now. Every year 20 million people are displaced because of climate change, extreme weather, and environmental degradation. IOM helps people to be able to stay in their homes, aids people on the move, and supports people when it is time to move. More than 15 million people in Somalia and Pakistan need humanitarian aid due to extreme weather events. IOM provides life-saving assistance to those affected by floods and drought.
