     @silverwizard My whole thing is just... do I need another relatively high-spend hobby with a bevvy of associated equipment just to continue to not actually use anything past the proof of concept stage?

     @silverwizard In soviet canuckistan (which IIRC we share) you can transmit FM radio under a certain wattage unlicensed, that's like the whole premise of an entire class of now largely-obviated car accessories.
